Dehydration is a much bigger problem than most people realize, and it can come with serious consequences. Myth #4. All beverages hydrate equally.

Unfortunately, when it comes to hydration, all beverages simply aren’t created equal. Many non-water beverages are sweetened or caffeinated, and they trigger chemical reactions in the body that actually require more fluid to be filtered and processed. In this way, these kinds of beverages actually set you back from a hydration standpoint. Water doesn’t have to be the only thing you or your child drinks, but it should be the main thing.

Myth #5. Hydration is all about what you drink.

Did you know that you can be dehydrated on a cellular level, even if you drink plenty of water? It takes more than just water to keep you properly hydrated; you also need essential fatty acids, electrolytes and minerals. For proper hydration, in addition to drinking lots of water, you also need to include plenty of seeds, nuts, vegetables and fruits in your diet.
