It’s can be a challenge to find a babysitter for your kids on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is the one day that many parents go out on the town to celebrate their love, and it is also one of the most difficult days of the year to find a babysitter. That’s why, in our Newtown day care’s latest blog, we gave you a couple of helpful tips for finding a babysitter on Valentine’s Day. Keep reading for more tips from our child care experts:

#3. Make your offer more competitive.

Why should a babysitter choose to watch your kids when he or she has offers from several other couples? The best way to set yourself apart from the competition is to offer more. Being willing to pay a little more than the other parents will not only help you get a babysitter, but it is also a nice way to say thank you to your babysitter, who is probably skipping their own date night to watch your kids.

#4. Share a sitter with a friend or a neighbor.

If a friend or a neighbor was able to snag a sitter, ask them (and the babysitter) if they would be willing to share. If they babysitter is willing to watch your kids too, make sure that you offer to up their rate. This is a great option because it allows your kids to have a playdate while you go on your date!

#5. Be willing to try out another babysitter.

If your regular babysitter is unavailable, ask your friends, neighbors and relatives for references. You never know, they might know a babysitter who just happens to be free on Valentine’s Day.
