If you have trouble getting your child to stay in their own bed at night, you’ve come to the right place!
Many parents share your struggle, but you’ll be glad to know that you are not helpless to it! There are many things you can do to encourage your child to sleep in their own bed, and in our last blog, we went over a couple of them. Today, our child care experts in Fairfield will be finishing up this blog series with these last couple tips:
#6. Make it clear to your child that they will be sleeping in their own bed.
If your child is used to getting up and getting into your bed at night, they aren’t going to suddenly just stop unless you make it clear to them that they need to. Make it a rule that your child needs to stay in their own bed, and make sure that you stick to it.
#7. Don’t weaken your resolve when your child whines or cries.
Unless something is seriously wrong with your child, don’t allow your child to sleep in your room just because they are crying or whining. If you weaken because of this behavior, your child will only keep doing it. Instead, simply take your child back to their own room as soon as they get up, and remind them that they are sleeping in their own bed now.
