News from Administration

Welcome to March!  How does that old saying go? “In like a lion and out like a lamb.” It’s hard to believe that February is over and spring is on its way.   The children enjoyed the Valentine’s Day luncheon.  Thank you to all who brought things in! In February we all also learned about lights and shadows, Presidents, celebrated Chinese New Year and learned all about how to keep our teeth healthy. March is looking to be a busy month. We’ll start out the month by celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday, we’ll study rainbows, search for leprechauns and shamrocks, ring in spring with a school wide Spring Fling Luncheon and we’ll finish off the month by learning all about farm animals.

Family of the Month – The Alvarez Family

The Alvarez family is our Family of the Month for March.  Congratulations to Meredith, Toby, Paige and Trevor!  Paige is two years old and currently in our Twaddler B classroom.  Her baby brother Trevor is five months old and in our Infant A classroom.  Paige is an amazing little girl who is always smiling and ready to try anything new.  She enjoys singing and dancing and playing with the dolls.  Trevor is very adventurous and we are sure that any day now he is going to crawl right across the room.  We love these two beautiful, smiley, super-smart children.  Thank you Meredith and Toby for being a part of our family at CWA!

Featured Employee – Megan Prater

We’d like to congratulate Miss Megan of Toddler A who is celebrating one year of being part of the Child’s World Academy Family this month.  Megan resides in Bridgeport where she has lived all of her life.  Megan is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College in New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  When Megan began working at CWA she was a teacher in our Infant room.  Since moving to Toddlers she has had the chance to teach the children she cared for originally.  Megan loves working at Child’s World Academy and states that, “working here is the perfect fit, I love getting to laugh and teach everyday!”  In her spare time, Megan enjoys reading novels and going for walks.

Extra Curricular Fun

Tumbletrain

Tumbletrain brings gymnastic lessons to your child right here at Child’s World Academy on Fridays.  Gymnastics teaches so much more than rolling and cartwheels. It is a great foundation for a variety of sports.  It is essential to teach children at a young age that fitness and movement can be fun!  Fran DelVeccio, who teaches the course, is a certified, professional instructor with more than fifteen years of teaching experience.  Be on the look out for registration for the Spring Session which will begin in April.  At the end of this session, we will have a demonstration for parents.  More details to follow as it approaches!

Tiny Feet Soccer

The current Tiny Feet Soccer Program will be ending at the end of this month.  We are looking forward to starting a new session towards mid April. Tiny Feet is an innovative sports and exercise program for children 3 – 6 years of age. The class uses shapes, colors and sound to visually stimulate children as they explore various movements, thus enhancing their motor development while introducing the basics of soccer.

Summer Camp

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already making preparations for Summer Camp!  We are all SO excited about this summer! Camp information is going out soon! Please spread the word about our exciting program for children 5-12 years of age.  The early registration (you will receive free registration and one free t-shirt with one week paid deposit).

Fall Registration 2015

Re-registration for the 2015-16 school year will be going out in early May.  We are looking forward to a fun-filled year and the transition or promotion of children to the next classroom.  We offer a fulltime transitional Kindergarten program as an alternative to the public school with low student to teacher ratios.  Please see Lisa if you have any questions about this great program!
