Monroe Daycare Staff
Lisa Martin, Center Director
I have worked in Roxbury, Massachusetts with after school children and summer camp. After college, I moved to Vermont where I worked at Killington Ski Resort in the Employees’ childcare center. I was also a nanny for twins from eight weeks to two and a half years. From there, I worked at another childcare center in Rutland, Vermont where I taught two year old’s and three year old’s.I became Director and a part of the Child’s World Academy family in February 1997. I was originally hired to run the Monroe Route 25 center. I eventually transferred to the Route 111 center when they opened its doors in August 1998. I am very excited to be at the Route 25 center as Director again. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I enjoyed doing my student teaching in various areas of Cambridge, Boston and Bradford, England. My background includes working in various childcare settings with children from ages six weeks through twelve years.
We relocated to Connecticut due to my husband’s job in June of 1996 and we have been living in Bridgeport ever since then. We purchased a house in June 2004 near the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport. I have a wonderful, supportive husband and three children (Spenser-16 years, Sebastian-11 years and Olivia – 5 years). Olivia is in Kindergarten here and Sebastian comes here during the summer and for school vacations/days off. Spenser no longer attends due to his age. However, he enjoyed his many years here and especially loved Summer Camp. Most of our family is in Western Massachusetts so we travel quite often to see them. We enjoy spending time with family and friends on the weekends. Well, that is all I have to share about me and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your families. Please feel free to come and talk with me.
Katie Bromley, Assistant Director
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Katie Bromley and I am currently working as the Assistant Director here at Child’s World Academy! I am the proud mother of a remarkable 12 year old boy named Richard. Becoming a mother has been my greatest blessing! I also feel fortunate to be the aunt of eight wonderful nieces and nephews.
Before coming to Child’s World Academy I worked as a Pre-School teacher in Stratford. In addition, I ran after-school elementary programs in Stratford, and after-school science classes in New Canaan. Prior to this, I worked both as a nanny and as a paraprofessional at an Alternative High School. I have worked with children for the past 12 years, both in and out of various school systems. I find working with children to be both enjoyable and rewarding. I am pleased to have the opportunity to become part of the Child’s World Academy family and to aid in your children’s growing and learning experience! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children.
