No one wants their child to get sick, and there are lots of things you can do to boost your child’s immune system.

Having your child attend our day care center in Peekskill is a great way to set them up for a strong immune system in the future. However, many parents are concerned about all of the germs and bacteria that kids are exposed to when they are around other children. That’s why, in our last child care blog, we went over several tips to help you boost your child’s immune system. Here are a few more:

#4. Exercise with your child.

Regular exercise is essential for your child’s immune system, but it’s often not enough to simply tell your child to play outside. Some kids need a bit more encouragement to actually exercise. Play outdoor sports or games as a family to strengthen your bond and get your child moving.

#5. Encourage your child to wash their hands.

While fighting germs won’t technically strengthen your child’s immune system, it can reduce the stress placed on it. Encourage your child to wash their hands properly with soap throughout the day, but especially before meals, after playing with other kids or outside, after blowing their nose, after handling pets and after using the bathroom.

#6. Reduce stress in your child’s life.

Between soccer practice, piano lessons, gymnastics and day care, many kids have a lot on their plates. While it’s great for kids to be active, they also need plenty of room in their schedules for creative play, down time and rest. Minimize the stress in your child’s life by not overloading their schedule with activities.
